About Sweet Bay Productions
Sweet Bay Productions was founded on December 4, 2020 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania but the creation of this production company happened a decade and a half prior.
Sweet Bay Productions is named after Victoria's late grandmother Loretta. The name Loretta is derived from the term Laurel also know as Sweet Bay. Laurels were used as crowns in Ancient Greek and Roman times to symbolize Victory after battle.
Like every grandmother, Victoria's grandmother religiously watched Soap Operas such as the Young and the Restless and Days of Our Lives. When Loretta wasn't watching Soap Operas she would go to the movies and Victoria was frequently asked to tag along. This small act became a tradition every weekend. Frequent trips to the movies allowed Victoria to grow a love for movies that would later manifest into a passion for Filmmaking. The shared love of movies between Victoria and her late grandmother caused Victoria to become heavily invested in films at an early age.
Upon the creation of Sweet Bay Productions in 2020, Victoria thought that it was only right to dedicate the name of her production company after her late grandmother who passed away in March 2018.
Today Sweet Bay Productions is a growing production company that has expanded its horizons and done the unimaginable. In the future, we hope to continue growing and become one of the greatest production companies within the film industry.
Meet the Founder/CEO
Victoria Gleason

As an aspiring Filmmaker with specialized interests in Directing and Screenwriting, Victoria initially did not aspire to have a career in the Entertainment Industry.
After many years of pursuing another passion, Victoria with many moments of contemplation decided to take a leap of faith and pursue a career in Filmmaking at the end of 2020 with no experience. Throughout those years, Victoria saw a constant desire from her friends and other peers for more TV shows and Films that are centered around African Americans without trauma being the driving force. Victoria decided to lean into this much needed desire while also pursuing the stories that she desperately wanted to tell.
In December 2020, Victoria submitted her first film ever, Expression, to the Playhouse West 25 Day Film Challenge and has not looked back since.
In October 2023, Victoria's first original screenplay titled, Bullets Have No Name, was selected as a Second Round pick in the Drama Feature Category for the Austin Film Festival Screenplay Competition. This distinction was only awarded to the top 20% of screenwriters out of 11,000 entries across the compeititon despite the category.
